Oh Baby ~ Maternity Session Tips!

Pregnancy is a special time of your life and for many women, (although you may not feel like it) you are at your most natural, feminine, and beautiful self.  During your pregnancy, your hair is rich and thicker, your skin is glowing, and your body has more curves.  Let’s take advantage of it! Trust me, once the baby is here you’re actually going to miss the squirmy belly!

Here are a few tips to make your session even better:

  • The sweet spot for a session is the 7-8 month mark – you’re poppin, but you’re not swollen (hopefully) and still semi comfortable.
  • Wearing a well fitted dress or top is best. This will contour your beautiful baby belly and overall curve. We’ll be sending you a ‘What to Wear Guide’ to help outfit your partner, kiddos, or anyone else accompanying the shoot.
  • Should you include your significant other or children? Girl, that’s up to you! If you bring them, it doesn’t mean they are in every photo, but little hands on your belly is awfully adorable!
  • Props add a nice personal touch to your session. Baby shoes, clothes, ultrasounds, or decor from the nursery is always fun to play with during a session! It’s also really cool when that’s something that you can bring the newborn session as well 😉
  • Pamper yourself! Especially if you’re not feeling your absolute best, it’s nice to have someone else dote on you! Buy the dress, get your hair and nails did, get professional makeup – If you need referrals, I have them!
  • Sleep, stay hydrated, and don’t skip meals – We want you to feel your absolute best!
  • You might hate it, but I’m going to say it, now is a great time to do a boudoir session! There’s a true elegance and sexiness to pregnancy, plus it’s a great confidence boost for when you’re not feeling quite yourself.
